An early Easter package came in the mail today, addressed to "Mia and family." Enclosed was a VERY special treat - marshmallow Peeps! At first when I saw them I thought, "Oh no! She can't have Peeps! What am I going to tell her when she asks if she can have one?"Wellllll...as it turns out, Peeps are GLUTEN-FREE!! Hooray!
And I should have known...Gramma (pronounced "Grumma") would have never sent anything that wasn't an "approved" treat for Mia. :)

ReplyDeleteHi Dana! (It's been a long time hasn't it? If you are wondering who I am, I'm Carol - with the long last name - from TM). If you are looking for gluten free snacks - check out Lesser Evil. They are low in calories, taste great, and I am pretty sure they are gluten free (at least that's what the Krinkle Sticks package says). They are snacks the whole family will probably like. :) Carol

ReplyDeleteHa ha...yes, I remember you! How have you been?!?
Thank you for the tip on the Lesser Evil products...I just discovered them a few weeks ago while making my weekly trip to Whole Foods. However, most of them contain dairy and/or oils (sunflower oil) that Mia can't have right now. Also, the Krinkle Sticks are made with potatoes and potato starch - Mia can't have any "nightshade vegetables" and potatoes are on that list. Soooooo, as you can see, her diet is very limited.
Thank you so much for the tip, though!!! I greatly appreciate it! We are believing that one day she will be able to enjoy tasty treats like Kettle Corn and Krinkle Sticks! :)
Three cheers for gluten free Peeps! Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteWhat a GREAT and WONDERFUL "grumma"! You (and Mia) are blessed!
